Top Met Copper jailed
"Metropolitan Police Commander Ali Dizaei has been sentenced to four years for assaulting and falsely arresting a man in a dispute over £600.

Southwark Crown Court was told Waad Al-Baghdadi was arrested by Dizaei in a row over work on the officer's website.

Dizaei was convicted of both misconduct in a public office and perverting the course of justice.

Prosecutor Peter Wright QC said he was guilty of a "wholesale abuse of power" motivated by self-interest and pride.

Dizaei, who was born in 1962, was ordered to spend two years in prison and two years on licence."

Sir Robert Peel's Nine Principles

The basic mission for which the police exist is to prevent crime and disorder.

The ability of the police to perform their duties is dependent upon public approval of police actions.

Police must secure the willing co-operation of the public in voluntary observance of the law to be able to secure and maintain the respect of the public.

The degree of co-operation of the public that can be secured diminishes proportionately to the necessity of the use of physical force.

Police seek and preserve public favour not by catering to public opinion but by constantly demonstrating absolute impartial service to the law.

Police use physical force to the extent necessary to secure observance of the law or to restore order only when the exercise of persuasion, advice and warning is found to be insufficient.

Police, at all times, should maintain a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence.

Police should always direct their action strictly towards their functions and never appear to usurp the powers of the judiciary.

The test of police efficiency is the absence of crime and disorder, not the visible evidence of police action in dealing with it.

Dizaei sums up everything that is wrong with this country. And now he's been fucked. Good.

Raised up in position not because of merit but because of positive discrimination, tokenism and political correctness. He's now thrown it back in everyone's faces.

I'll tell you what, I'm laughing my cock off.

unitedsound - Its people like you who make me sick. if this was a white copper then you would be first in line to say how glad you are that he was going to prison - yet because he is asian you assume a racist agenda.

Not only is this discriminatory in its own right it is also patronising to those black and asian coppers who do things the hard way and get by on their merits without playing the race card as a means to an end.

I lookl at what people are like and could not give a fuck about the colour of their skin. You should try is some time, it might just open your eyes to the fact that most smart well educated, successful people do not need your pity even if they are brown skinned.

Prick.

Re: Top Met Copper jailed
Glee that a copper who's consistantly got away with corruption, used and abused the system for his own ends, bullied and intimidated others to get what he wanted, used the race card to frighten people into not investigating his dodgy dealings, tried to frame an innocent man, making up evidence, has FINALLY been caught?
Yeah, I'd say, on the balance of things, people have got a right to feel a tiny bit of glee.

Re: Top Met Copper jailed
Why? Can't you read?

It's cos he was a corrupt cunt who used the race card to try and get away with it, not cos of his skin colour.

Re: Top Met Copper jailed
Surely it is not racist to be thrilled that an asian senior police officer has been sent down for crimes of corruption which he attempted to cover up by using the race card.

I would have thought the vast majority of decent black and asian people would be even more thrilled than me.
